Goal 2 - Register as an organ donor.

Register as an organ donor.

The demand for organs significantly surpasses the number of donors everywhere in the world. There are more potential recipients on organ donation waiting lists than organ donors. In particular, due to significant advances in dialysis techniques, patients suffering from end-stage renal disease (ESRD) can survive longer than ever before. Because these patients don't die as quickly as they used to, and as kidney failure increases with the rising age and prevalence of high blood pressure and diabetes in a society, the need especially for kidneys rises every year.
In the United States alone, about 108,000 people are on the waiting list.

We can actively help to solve the organ shortage, have less people unnecessarily die and combat the illegal organ trafficking(scary just to think about!) by simply registering as an Organ Donor and by encouraging other people to do so, too.

I had an organ donation card a few years ago but after losing my purse I never got around to replacing it. That's pretty lame of me, as it takes less than five minutes.

This should be an easy goal to accomplish and I'll do so once I'm back in Berlin.

Whether you want to add it to your goals, too, or just register "like that" I found a few resources for you, so it's even less hassle!

UK: How to become an Organ Donor?

Germany: Organspende
Netherlands: Woord Orgaandonor
Denmark: Organdonor

If you live in any other country and want to become an organ donor a quick google search should give you the information on how to register.
However, if you're from Luxembourg, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic or Hungaria you don't need to worry, as you're automatically registed.
